Keep It Simple. Easy Does It.

Recovery is hard enough without us making it harder.

That is why these two slogans matter: Keep it simple and Easy does it.

“Keep it simple” means do the next right thing. Tell the truth. Ask for help. Make the call. Go to the meeting. Keep your appointment. Don’t pick up. Stay connected.

Most people do not lose recovery because they failed to understand some complicated theory. They lose ground because they stopped doing the simple things.

Recovery is like a down escalator. If you just stand still, you’re losing ground. You don’t have to sprint to the top today, but you do need to take the next step.

“Easy does it” means don’t try to fix ten years of damage in ten days. Healing has a pace. Trust has a pace. Growth has a pace.

You can’t plant a seed on Monday and yell at it on Tuesday because it isn’t a tree yet.

Do what is yours to do today, and let God handle what only God can handle.

Keep it simple.

Easy does it.

Tell the truth. Stay connected. Take the next step.

Then get up tomorrow and do it again.
