What do the numbers 12-2-1 mean?

There are many meanings, but the simplest answer is that there are 12 Seats, 2 Facilitators, and 1 "Focus Area" at each Roundtable.

Why was 12-2-1 developed

12-2-1 naturally grew out of more than (70) years of combined experience in Addiction, Mental Health, and Criminal Justice treatment. The authors were led to expand on their work with the Principles and Processes of the Stages of Change Model, and this work has further developed into the 12-2-1 Roundtables curriculum as it is today.

What is the Stages of Change Model?

The Stages of Change, or Transtheoretical Model, was developed by Drs. Prochaska and DiClemente as a way of explaining how people change, and is used worldwide.

Who do you serve?

We serve individuals, families, Drug Courts, Day Report Centers, DoHS/CPS-involved families, treatment centers, probation and parole, DOT-covered employers, churches, and community partners.

Do you only work with people struggling with addiction?

No. While much of our work supports people facing substance use and recovery needs, we also help people address other life-controlling and life-limiting problems such as unhealthy patterns, shame, fear, broken relationships, and disconnection.

Daily "Challenges" accompany the Roundtables and provide additional insight into readiness for change.

"I have a hard time trusting people, and don't like big groups. Is that going to be a problem?

Not at all! Roundtables were developed with this concern in mind.   Many who join and complete Roundtables felt the exact same way, and have repeatedly said that they were glad they stuck with it...   Because of the lives we have lived, most of us (including your Facilitators) have had major trust issues and haven't liked big groups of people.   Each Roundtable has no more than (12) people total, and they can be fun too... (we like a little recovery competition!)
