There are many meanings, but the simplest answer is that there are 12 Seats, 2 Facilitators, and 1 "Focus Area" at each Roundtable.

12-2-1 naturally grew out of more than (70) years of combined experience in Addiction, Mental Health, and Criminal Justice treatment. The authors were led to expand on their work with the Principles and Processes of the Stages of Change Model, and this work has further developed into the 12-2-1 Roundtables curriculum as it is today.

Not at all! Roundtables were developed with this concern in mind.   Many who join and complete Roundtables felt the exact same way, and have repeatedly said that they were glad they stuck with it...   Because of the lives we have lived, most of us (including your Facilitators) have had major trust issues and haven't liked big groups of people.   Each Roundtable has no more than (12) people total, and they can be fun too... (we like a little recovery competition!)
