Jim and Faith Wilson are the co-founders of 12-2-1 Roundtables, a program of Straight Gate, Inc., where they serve together in recovery-focused ministry, counseling, and support work. Together, they bring decades of experience in addiction recovery, human services, corrections, counseling, treatment courts, and faith-based support.

Jim is the founding member of Straight Gate, Inc. and brings more than 37 years of experience helping people with addiction and other life-controlling issues. Over the course of his career, he has served as a Clinical Director, Therapist, and Counselor, with a special interest in Treatment Courts. He has worked extensively with clients involved in Community Corrections, Day Report Centers, Adult Drug Court Programs, and Juvenile Corrections.

Jim earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Marshall University and has held an Alcohol and Drug Counselor certification, including clinical supervision endorsements, for more than 30 years. He is also a qualified Substance Abuse Professional for the U.S. Department of Transportation. Jim has been in long-term recovery since 1988.

Faith has been in long-term recovery from substances and compulsive eating and began her work in the human services field in 1985. She started as a college intern working with suicide-risk adolescents on Rikers Island, New York, and later worked with individuals in solitary confinement until 1998, when she accepted a position with New York State Parole.

Faith earned a Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in 1991. After relocating to West Virginia in 2015, she served in Community Corrections as a substance abuse counselor and later as a therapist in Juvenile Corrections. She now serves as Co-Founder and Assistant Director of 12-2-1 Roundtables.

The 12-2-1 Roundtables Model and Curriculum represents the culmination of Jim and Faith’s shared life work — shaped by lived recovery, professional experience, faith, and a deep belief in the power of honest connection, accountability, grace, and lasting change.

Together, Jim and Faith are grateful followers of Jesus Christ and are committed to helping people move from isolation into connection, recovery, restoration, and hope — one Roundtable at a time.
